C & C in France Paris Mission

Week Nine June 5-11, 2023 What a beautiful experience it is to be here in Paris.  Every day is a new adventure. We spent the day on Tuesday traveling and attending the Paris Temple.  It is a beautiful temple- so elegant and regal- and the gardens are lovely with blooming flowers of many colors and variety.  The spirit is so strong there - inside and outside in the gardens -  and the Visitor's Center is well done as well.  As we entered the Temple, we were greeted by the ordinance workers in French.  We requested to hear the endowment in English on headphones but found ourselves taking them off and beginning to understand the French. What a blessing!                                                                            At the ...

Week Eight May 29-June 4, 2023 To start the week off, we attended a Mozart Requiem performance at Englise Saint-Louis-en-I'lle in Paris.  The conductor was President Frederic Loisel, our current Paris Stake President, who is a professional cellist as well!  He did a terrific job conducting this masterpiece.  I have soloed/performed this work many times and know it well. The soloist were good, and the orchestra and chorus were very good! This was a beautiful setting to perform this great work in.  We all really enjoyed it!                                        Soeur Amanda Scheuermann, Sister Loisel, Sister and Elder Jorgensen                                              President Loisel, our Stake President, c...

Week Seven May 21-27, 2023 Wow! What an adventure!!! We prepared to go north to Normandy again.  We took the Metro to the REI Train, then walked to the Paris Mission Office to pick up the car which is parked on the 2nd floor in the deep, dark basement.  The elevator is quite tricky to get in and our of, and feels more like the size of an old phone booth that Super Man used to change his closes in! We found the car, loaded up, and off we headed. Craig drives so well among all the winding, crazy to follow streets, round-a-bouts, in and out exits almost every few blocks until we get out of the city.  I navigate from google maps - how people got around before GPS is a miracle to me.  These streets are so unpredictable as are the cars, trucks, bikers, motorcycles, scooters, and pedestrians.  It's a good thing that dogs are on leaches around here and that other animals don't dart into the road- at least we haven't experienced any yet. We had amazing experiences ...
