C & C in France Paris Mission

Week 12

July 1-8

What a wonderful day it was to meet our new mission president and his wife, President Ryan and Sister Heather Munns!  We at once felt at home with them.  His brother is our Bishop in our Ward at home, and he looks just like his brother.  Sister Munns is lovely and both make a wonderful team!

We had our 2nd Zone Conference on Wednesday (our first conference was President and Sister Hansen's last and our second conference was President and Sister Munns' first).  It was a joy to hear from both of them and learn and meet their entire family.

We met with them after the conference and shared our desires to be involved in upcoming events - European World-Wide Christmas Concert here in Paris and the 2024 Summer Olympics!  We feel we could contribute and are willing to serve in any way possible.

Craig and I have been creating our Book of Mormon Firesides.  It will include music, special topics on the Book of Mormon, and is very adaptable to whomever we present it to: Stakes, Wards, missionary groups, etc.  We are excited to share these messages wherever we are invited to do so and hope to go to most of the places and cities that are in our France Paris Mission - and beyond.

As we continue to study our French, we are so grateful that it is starting to come into our heads and we are now speaking it  a little more each day.  With more practice, study, and use, we want to become fluent and hopefully present our Firesides in French as well as English.

Here are some of the books we use to study French.  We also use Duolingo, conference talks, and written French books and articles as well as speaking as much as we can to each other at home.

As we end our week, we think of the how this picture of French sunflowers speaks to us.

The French word for sunflower is tournesol ("turns with the sun"). I love that! Sunflowers are so cheery and shine brightly and always make me happy.

They remind me of you, my dearest family and friends, and the joy you bring to us each day and always.

May the joy of family, old and new friendships always be treasured and remembered.

We love and miss you all!
